SUMMARY :
It is said that in the beginning of time, when humans were first created, they had a form different to that they have today. They were both man and woman, with four arms, four legs and a single head made up of two faces. According to Greek mythology, Zeus had feared the power humans could possess as one, and so he had split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves. They would be known throughout many cultures as Soulmates. Two people destined to cross paths. Two souls tethered to each other by fate.

There were many people that didn't believe in the myth, but Soulmates were very real. They existed everywhere; all throughout time, and in every living creature on the planet. Roxanne Sinclair and Malachai Parker were destined to meet each other. Her family was always supposed to leave New Orleans and move to Portland, just a few doors down from the Parker family. And they were always supposed to meet each other on a brisk autumn night, when Kai had gone for a walk in the woods, unsure of what had compelled him to do so until he had met Roxy, a peculiar girl playing with magic underneath the moonlight.

From that night onward, Kai and Roxy would sneak away from their families just to see each other. They could spend hours upon hours in the woods, getting to know each other and messing around with magic together. They had never felt more alive until the night they had met. Life felt complete now that they were in each other's lives. They loved each other despite every flaw, despite every dark thought and terrible thing that they had done for each other, for finally they were not alone in that darkness.

But their families did not approve of such behaviour, and so they dealt with their children accordingly.

The Gemini Coven did the only thing that they could think of to prevent Kai from becoming even more powerful, banishing him to a prison world they hoped he would never be able to escape. But it didn't stop there. They knew that Roxy would seek vengeance for what they did to him, and so, they imprisoned her as well, far away from the siphoner she loved. She would spend the rest of her days in a comatose sleep in an ICU bed at the local hospital, a place they knew Kai would never go looking for her if he somehow managed to escape the prison world.

For several years, Kai would become more vengeful than ever before, desperate to find a way to escape his imprisonment and be with Roxy again. And then, as though fate was helping him get back to Roxanne Sinclair again, a witch and a vampire had mysteriously appeared in the prison world, and it was then Kai knew these strangers were his ticket home.

ADDITIONAL NOTES :
━ The title was inspired by the Nirvanna song Come As You Are. It reminded me of them so I went with it, especially since I couldn't find an idiom I liked for this fic, which I always try to do for you seeing as you love idioms so much. But, anyway, you can change the title if you want to. Same goes for the summary. Feel free to change whatever you want with that as well.

━ Roxy and Kai are a fastburn. They get together relatively quickly after meeting each other for the first time.

━ As per your request, I went with the name Roxanne and shortened it to Roxy. I also made her a witch because it seemed more fitting for the character and her relationship with Kai.

━ The concept of soulmates obviously exists in this fic. However, there's no special kind of soulmate magic, as I felt that would just get in the way of the magic that already exists in the TVDU. Really, it's just fate brings two people together, whether it's romantically or platonically (in this case romantically) and they can somewhat sense each other, too, which I'll expand more on in the Google Doc. But that's it. There's nothing super special about soulmates. It's just a strong bond that draws two people together.

━ Roxy is a complex character and is in no way a good person, so you should not portray her as such. She has done and will do terrible things throughout this fic. She also isn't one of those sunshine characters who try to make Kai good, she accepts his darkness just as he accepts her own.

━ Roxy has the usual sarcastic trait, as that is a Liz Trademark. She is also known to be quite manipulative, aggressive, impulsive, vengeful and very unforgiving, as she tends to hold grudges easily. Which makes Roxy just as much as a villain in the eyes of the Mystic Falls Gang as Kai is.

━ She is the daughter of Ezra Sinclair (and Agatha Sinclair), who is in fact related to Eva Sinclair from The Originals, in case you were wondering and thought that name sounded familiar. He isn't canon, I created Ezra's character and background myself. But Roxy's familial connections explains her dark nature and why she turned out this way. She takes after her Aunt Eva in a lot of ways.

━ I won't get into too much detail because I'm not sure how much you know about Eva Sinclair, but Roxy's parents took her and left New Orleans due to her Aunt Eva's dark habits. Ezra and Agatha didn't want their daughter anywhere near all of that, so they packed up and moved to Portland, hoping to get as far away from magic as possible. But obviously they failed to do so because little did they know that they moved in just a few doors down from the Gemini Coven.

━ Ezra figured out who their new neighbours were pretty quickly, and he made his daughter promise to stay away from them because he didn't want her anywhere near magic after what went down in New Orleans. He even stopped using his own magic so his daughter could have a normal life. But Roxy being, well, Roxy, didn't listen one bit. She would sneak out and practice magic in the woods behind the house so that her parents wouldn't find out what she was doing, and then one night, would met Kai Parker.

━ Roxy and Kai would sneak out almost every night after that night just to see each other, getting to know each other very quickly and even practicing magic together in the woods.

━ Her parents eventually found out what she was doing, and Ezra, knowing that his daughter would never stop practicing magic, agreed to help her learn how to control it instead so she that wouldn't end up like Eva. But still, Roxy would go out into the woods, her and Kai practicing with dark magic, something they enjoyed doing together.

━ Roxy would always let Kai siphon from her whenever they would practice magic together. He would never have to ask, she would just let him. She did this not only because she loved him, but because she enjoyed the feeling of being connected to him in that way and to be performing dark magic with him. It was thrilling.

━ Her parents eventually found out that she was practicing dark magic with Kai, and Ezra, as you can imagine, become very angry about the whole situation. He did the only thing he could do, and spelled the house so that his daughter couldn't leave. More importantly, he wanted to keep her away from Kai, as he believed the boy was a bad influence on his daughter and was the reason why she was practicing with dark magic. Obviously he was wrong, though. Roxy was actually the one who suggested it to Kai, which, as you can imagine, only made him fall in love with her even more.

━ Lots of stuff goes down after Ezra forbids Roxy from leaving the house and spending time with her boyfriend Kai. I'll go into specifics in the Google Doc so that those events won't get spoiled for readers.

━ What I can say on here, though, is that Roxy does manage to get out of the house with Kai's help. This happens on the night of his Merge with Jo and when the Gemini Coven imprison him in the prison world.

━ Roxy is there during the Merge and she witnesses the Gemini Coven as they intervene and stop it from happening. She obviously becomes hysterical when Kai suddenly disappears and begins to attack them. However, the Gemini Coven quickly subdue her and place her under the sleeping spell, as mentioned in the summary, and she goes into a comatose state.

━ Someone from the Gemini Coven takes Roxy to the hospital, and they cloak an ICU room to keep her location a secret (from Kai if he manages to escape), and then they tell Ezra and Agatha about what went down. They even lie, saying that Roxy helped Kai commit the murders at the Parker home so that Ezra and Agatha won't be tempted to wake their daughter up from the spell.

━ Even though it pains them both, Ezra and Agatha know that it's for the best. They just want their daughter to be safe, not to become like Eva, and this is the only way to prevent that, so they agree not to wake her.

━ For many years, Ezra and Agatha go to the hospital and they sit with their daughter, talking to Roxy and saying how much they miss her, etc. Little do they know that she can actually hear them. She can hear everything going on around her. Including the fact that she has a little brother now.

━ Yes, you read that correctly, her parents ended up having a second child, her mother unknowingly pregnant when everything went down. I'll go into more detail about her younger sibling in the Google Doc.

━ They realize something strange over the years. Roxy hasn't aged. Not even a single day. It's as though she is frozen in time. And it's only when Kai escapes the prison world that they realize she stopped aging because he did, too. Why? Because they are Soulmates. Kai stopped aging due to being trapped in the prison world and so naturally Roxy did as well. Gotta love fate.

━ Roxy does awaken from her comatose state, however, I won't say how or when she does. That spoiler will also remain only in the Google Doc.

━ There are two ways you can end this fic. Both endings will be explained in the Google Doc. And, as always, there is obviously more to this plot, but to avoid spoiling things for potential readers, the rest will be sent privately.
